Chief of Police
Edward J. Delmore was sworn in as Pelham's Chief of Police on April 7, 2025.
Chief Delmore has more than 40 years of law enforcement experience, including 20 years of highly successful leadership as a police chief. During his 15-year tenure as the Gulf Shores Chief of Police, Delmore's leadership earned widespread recognition, and his department achieved numerous milestones in policing excellence, including CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) accreditation.
A strong advocate for training and professional development in law enforcement, Chief Delmore has shared his expertise with officers across the country. He has instructed law enforcement professionals nationwide, including police supervisors at the Pentagon, and has lectured to police administrators from around the world at the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. Additionally, he has served as an adjunct instructor for several prestigious institutions, including Northwestern University's Traffic Institute, the University of North Florida's Institute of Police Technology and Management, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers. His specialized courses in criminal patrol operations, interview techniques, and leadership for police administrators have shaped the careers of many officers and law enforcement executives.
Chief Delmore holds a Master's degree from Webster University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. His leadership philosophy is centered on integrity, community engagement, and continuous improvement, making him a strong asset to the Pelham Police Department and the community it serves.
