The position of the PGA Certified Head Golf Professional manages daily golf operations and golf tournaments in coordination with other departments.
Representative List of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Trains, supervises and assists with hiring and discipline of all golf operation employees to include golf shop, outside services, starters and hosts.
- Manage internal and external golf tournaments for members and the public.
- Assists with creation, promotion, coordination, and scheduling of outside events (tournaments) and member events.
- Plays golf with members and guests.
- Manages merchandise inventory, purchases, receiving and sales.
- Responsible for marking the golf course for daily play and tournament play.
- Teaches private and group golf lessons.
- Manages junior golf program.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and long days during peak season.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with others.
Requirements of the Position:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) and one to two years related experience and/or training as a Head Golf Professional preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in playing golf at a high level and the ability to teach golf lessons required.
- Must be knowledgeable of the rules of golf.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Membership in PGA of America required.
- AL Driver's license required to drive golf carts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages full-time and part-time employees depending on the season, shift, event or other activities going on at the golf course.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary, $57,372.00 - $78,192.00, commensurate with experience.
