Autumn ushers in a very busy season for Pelham Parks & Recreation. The staff is prepping for two significant October events: Music in the Park and Fall-O-Ween.

MUSIC IN THE PARK

Music in the Park is a laid-back Sunday afternoon event where people can relax in Pelham City Park and enjoy the music of some of the area’s top bands. The event is going strong after four big years, and 2024's schedule offers more of the same.

On Sunday, October 6th, the OPOV Band will perform from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Birmingham-based group is a 10-member band of seasoned musicians who enjoy playing great music. They’re known for genres such as Motown, R&B, neo-soul, pop, country, and rock ‘n’ roll.

The Negotiators will headline the October 13th installment of Music in the Park.  The band advertises itself as a “who’s who” of legendary Birmingham musicians. They will delight their audience with an excellent music mix from classic and modern rock to Motown, soul, funk, and blues.

FALL-O-WEEN

This year’s Music in the Park season wraps up on October 20th as the event joins the all-new Fall-O-Ween festival at Pelham City Park.  This free, family-friendly afternoon will feature all the fun of a fall festival that’s all treats and no tricks! Children will enjoy bounce houses, carnival games, crafts, face painting, balloon art, Knockerball, bungee jumping, and more. There will be a costume parade, and children can gather candy on the trick-or-treat trail. Shop the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, where you’ll see how our young people are getting a head start on their futures by showcasing what they make and do.

Fall-O-Ween will feature the final Music in the Park acts. The Gore Brothers will play music at the festival from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the Black Sedan Band takes the stage at 4:00 p.m. People who’ve attended Music in the Park in the past are probably familiar with Black Sedan Band. The Birmingham-based group plays a wide range of songs from the 70s, 80s, and 90s and some current pop tunes. They’re guaranteed to get you up and dancing!

Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy Music in the Park. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. We can’t wait to see you at our fall events!
