The Building Department issues building permits and is responsible for inspecting all commercial and residential construction within the city limits. Our purpose is not only to safeguard life, health, and property, and to promote the public welfare, but also through dialogue and enforcement to make Pelham a better place to reside and to locate your business.
All building plan submittals may be dropped off on the 2nd floor of the Pelham Water Works building, located at 3111 Cummings Street. Please make sure you include all required documents.
Permit Fees & Payments

The City of Pelham’s Building Department conducts inspections Monday-Friday between the hours of 6:30a.m.-10:30a.m. and 12:00p.m.-3:30p.m. The inspector will call you at the number provided if there are any concerns or deficiencies.

The City of Pelham’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) is required, under the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), to eliminate the discharge of storm water pollutants from the MS4 to the maximum extent practicable.
All zoning requests are first presented to the Planning Commission and the commission makes a recommendation to the Pelham City Council.
